Parent Involvement

ยป Parent Involvement

Welcome to the start of your time as Panther Parent! There are several ways you can assist your student to prepare for their Chapman experience and get involved in our parent community.

Assisting your student

It is important that your student learn how to navigate the university independently. However, in some cases they may need some help. Here are a few important steps for you to be able to assist if needed:

  • Financial assistance: Through Chapman ePay, parents can view billing statements, make payments, enroll in payment plans and review account activity. However, parents must be granted access by their student to Chapman ePay. You can learn more on our Panther Authorized User page here.
  • Academic support: Due to FERPA guidelines Chapman can only disclose information from a student's educational records to parents when we have written consent from the student on file. Your student can access Chapman's Release Authorization Form here.
  • Safety and peace of mind: Panther Alert sends emergency messages to your mobile or fixed device of choice so you get emergency messages quickly wherever you are. You can learn more and sign up for Panther Alerts here.

We encourage parents and families to become engaged partners who take an active role in ensuring not just the success of their student, but of all students and the Chapman community as a whole.

You can learn more about ways to get involved on the Chapman Parents and Families website.

Upcoming events

Another great way to get involved is by attending an upcoming event! There are several opportunities for families of incoming students:

  • Orientation: Parents and families play a huge role in Orientation activities. We hope you'll be able to attend with your student!
  • Parent Spring Summit: Every spring semester we invite parents back to campus to learn more about Chapman, supporting your student and getting involved.
