Change of Education Level

» Change of Education Level

Have you completed one degree at Chapman and will now pursue an additional degree with us? If so, you are considered changing your education level, and you must be issued a new I-20 Form.

A change of level applies if you are staying at the same college/university but continuing studies at a different educational level.

Eligibility

To be eligible to change your education level, you must:

  • Currently be in valid F-1 status, completing a Chapman degree program (or completing post-completion OPT based on your Chapman degree).
  • Have been admitted to a new degree program at Chapman and the new program will start in the next available term and have submitted your enrollment deposit.
  • Be able to demonstrate financial ability for the cost of attendance of the new degree program.

Receiving your updated I-20 Form

Once you are admitted to a new program at Chapman, the Office of Admission will require you to submit the International Supplemental Form through your Application Status Page

You must submit this form prior to completing your current program. Your updated I-20 Form will be issued to you during your 60-day grace period.

If you are completing OPT, your work authorization will be canceled on the first day of your new program.
