MAP (My Academic Plan) Sessions

MAP Sessions are designed for first-year students: These sessions will continue to educate students on the academic tools needed to create their own academic plan and register for interterm and spring 2024. Each session will be led by an academic advisor from the Academic Advising Center (AAC). Each small group session will accommodate no more than 15 students in order to ensure ample time for questions. The following items will be covered in AAC MAP sessions:

  • Advising portal information (academic advisors vs program advisors)
  • Overall degree requirements
  • Utilizing your program evaluation
  • Researching majors and minors
  • Transfer credit
  • Searching for classes in your student center
  • Building your Interterm/Spring 2024 schedule

Though MAP sessions are not mandatory, they are highly recommended and take the place of one-on-one appointments during the months of October and November (during registration season). Sessions will be offered both in person and via Zoom. Please sign up early to have your preferred choice of times.

Please Note: If you need to meet with an academic advisor on a one-on-one basis or cannot attend any of the times/sessions listed please attend our walk-in hours. If a one-on-one appointment is necessary, an academic advisor will determine so after meeting with their students in a walk-in session.
