Become a Tutor

Tutors Help Students in Various Courses. Subjects include, but are not limited to:

  • Academic Mentoring
  • Accounting
  • Athletic Training
  • Biology
  • Chemistry
  • Economics
  • Film and TV
  • Finance
  • Math
  • Music
  • Physics
  • Physical Therapy
  • Psychology
  • Spanish
Tutors need to be patient, responsible, punctual and creative. They need to be willing to let tutees do the work, so that the students may become more independent learners.

Candidates should be current Chapman Students:

  • With Sophomore standing or higher
  • With a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0
  • Who have received an A/A- in the course(s) they wish to tutor
  • Have at least one faculty recommendation

Interested students should log onto the online job database to apply. Available tutoring positions include:

  • Graduate Student Tutor (for graduate student who would like to tutor graduate level courses)
  • Student Tutor (for new graduate/undergraduate students who would like to tutor undergraduate level courses)
  • Returning Student Tutor (for returning TLT tutors)
  • Supplemental Instructor

Applicants will need to have a Chapman professor complete a Recommendation Form in additional to completing the online application. This form is also available to pick up in our office in DeMille 130.
