To do: Submit Housing Application

To live in Chapman housing you must complete the housing application. You can do so via our Housing Portal.

Housing for first-year students

For incoming first-year students, Chapman housing is required for three years (through the end of junior year). All first-year students should expect to be placed in a triple-occupancy room in a first-year residency hall.

You can learn more about first-year residence halls here.

Living-Learning Communities

Residence hall assignments for first-year students are based on their academic program (Fenestra Living-Learning Communities). Individual rooming assignments are based on the living preference questions in the online housing application.

Fenestra Living-Learning Communities help first-year students forge connections with peers, faculty and the university. They also encourage students to engage in interdisciplinary, university-level critical inquiry and reflection.

Housing for transfer students

  • Incoming transfer students are guaranteed on-campus housing as long as they submit their housing application and Housing Reservation payment by the deadline.
  • Transfer students will be placed within a transfer community or with current students in returning student buildings.
  • Transfer students are strongly encouraged to apply for Chapman housing before the priority application deadline.
  • Transfer students interested in off-campus options can visit the Off-campus Housing website.
  • You can learn more about housing for incoming transfer students on our Transfer Housing Options page.
