Paying Tuition & Fees

» Paying Tuition & Fees

To assist new students with meeting their financial obligations while they finalize their class schedules, initial statements are prepared using Anticipated Charges to report the expected balance due for full-time enrollment status.

You will use this balance, less the "Total Pending Financial Aid", to determine the amount due, or for which you can enroll in a payment plan. Any class/lab fees will be added to the account at the time of enrollment.

Students (and Panther Partner Authorized Users) will receive an email in their Chapman account, when their billing statement is available:

  • July for those entering in the fall;
  • December for those entering in the spring.

Tuition and fees payment for fall will be due July 20 for those entering in the fall or December 20 for those entering in the spring. You must pay in full or enroll in an installment plan and make the first payment by this date.

Below are some key next steps and details to help ensure you’re all set for your first semester at Chapman.

Key Next Steps for Paying Tuition and Fees

Set up Panther Partner Authorized User(s)

Students can provide ePay access to parents/guardians who will need to view billing statements, make payments, enroll in payment plans and review account activity. You can learn more about setting this up on our Panther Partner Authorized User page.

Review and Select Payment Option

Visit our Billing page to determine if you will be paying in full or enrolling in a monthly payment plan. The page also includes instructions on setting up a payment plan.

Make Your Payment

Standard method of payment is by electronic check through Chapman University's ePay system. Debit/credit cards are not accepted for tuition and fees charged to the student account. For additional payment options, visit the Making a Payment page.

Complete a Tuition and Fee Master Payment Contract

All students must complete a Tuition and Fee Master Payment Contract before the first day of the semester. The contract is available to students by clicking "eForms" in the Student Center.

You can learn more on our forms page.

Billing Statements Delivery and Account Access

Electronic billing statements are available the first week of each month.

Accepted financial aid will show on your online eBill (student account monthly statement) as “Pending Financial Aid” and will be deducted from your payments. Please check this carefully to make sure it reflects only the financial aid for which you will apply.

If you applied for your financial aid on time, scholarships and loans should post to your student account during the first month of each semester.

Accessing Your Account

  • Students: Log into your Student Center to access ePay. We encourage you to set up your payment profile and register Panther Partner Authorized Users immediately.
  • Parents/guardians: Once your student has registered you as a Panther Partner Authorized User, you will receive an email with a temporary password and a link to login. Your student can provide you access to view account activity, make payments online, set up a payment plan, obtain the 1098-T tax statement and receive monthly eBill statements.

Refunds

If you withdraw from classes, your refund will be determined based on the date on which the class was dropped through your Student Center or the Registrar's Office.

  • You can view the refund policy and refund schedule on our Tuition Withdrawal Policy page. Please note, the date to drop and receive a refund is different from the Registrar drop date.
  • You can learn more about refund options on our Refund page.
