Panther for a Day - Parent & Family Opportunities

» Panther for a Day - Parent & Family Opportunities

The Panther for a Day program is for admitted first-year students only (with the exception of the student panel, see below). However, parents and family members are more than welcome to come to campus as well.

There are plenty of things you can do during your visit, depending on your interests and familiarity with Chapman/the surrounding area.

Take a campus tour

  • Parents and family members are welcome to register (in thier student's name) for a Guided Admitted Student Campus Tour. The tour experience includes a brief presentation, student panel and 90-minute walking tour of Chapman led by a current student.
    • Registration is required.
    • Note that the tour begins at 10 a.m. and Panther for a Day begins at 11:30 a.m., so you would need to arrive early to join.
  • Parents and family members can also take a Self-Guided Campus Tour at any time. You can download our Visitors App and follow tour routes with audio commentary from current students.
    • The Self-Guided Campus Tour includes routes for the Dodge College of Film & Media Arts, which is not included on our Guided Admitted Student Tour.
    • The Self-Guided Campus Tour is available in both English and Spanish.

Visit Old Towne OrangeFountain in Old Towne Orange

You can easily walk to Old Towne Orange, which is just a few blocks from campus.

Old Towne is an unofficial extension of Chapman and has plenty of food, coffee and shopping options available.

It's also a great area for Chapman students to hang out or get jobs that will be within easy walking distance of campus.

Schedule a financial aid appointment

In-person and virtual appointments are available for admitted students (and family members) who have questions about their financial aid award.

To meet with the Financial Aid Office during your visit, you can schedule an appointment. Please note that the office is closed from 12:30-1:30 p.m. for lunch.

The office is located in Bhathal Student Services Center, behind Chapman's Fowler School of Law.

Get some work done

Parents and family members often use their time to get some work done. Chapman has free wi-fi for all visitors. Seating is usually available on the front patio and within the Student Union in Argyros Forum (which is where students check in for Panther for a Day).

Additionally, there are several coffee shops in Old Towne where you can work.

If you have questions about your visit options, please email us at visit@chapman.edu and we will be happy to assist.
