Greek Life

» Greek Life

Joining a fraternity or sorority at Chapman provides opportunities for community building, community service, leadership development and academic achievement.

About one third of undergraduate students participate in Greek Life. We have nine national sororities and nine inter/national fraternities. Each chapter has a unique focus but all help foster friendships, connections and involvement opportunities.

Chapman Fraternities

Joining a fraternity can help you strengthen your values and build strong relationships that last well beyond college. With nine different fraternities on campus, you’re sure to find one that’s a good match for you.

Chapman Sororities

Professional Fraternities

Professional fraternities are exactly what they sound like — almost. Even though they’re called fraternities, they’re open to men and women.

Each professional fraternity is connected to a particular business or field. If you’ve already got your sights set on your career, a professional fraternity can help you get there by:

  • Helping you make connections and learn how to network
  • Showing you the ropes of your field/industry
  • Setting up interviews for you

Chapman has four professional fraternities, plus one national honor society:

  • Delta Kappa Alpha Cinematic Artists of Character: Delta Kappa Alpha unites filmmakers and storytellers across the nation.
  • Delta Sigma Pi (Business): Delta Sigma Pi is all about leadership, community and making a difference through business.
  • Alpha Kappa Psi (Business): Alpha Kappa Psi builds leaders in the world of business.
  • Kappa Alpha Pi (Pre-Law): Kappa Alpha Pi doesn’t just prepare its members for law school. It prepares them to give back to the community and make a difference.
  • Theta Alpha Kappa (Religious Studies Honor Society): Theta Alpha Kappa recognizes and celebrates religious diversity at Chapman and throughout the world while promoting academic excellence in religious studies.

Greek Life Opportunities

Rush/Recruitment

Rush (for fraternities) and recruitment (for sororities) is where you’ll learn all about the different fraternities/sororities on campus and find one that fits your values and goals.

Chapman has a strict no-hazing policy for fraternities and sororities.

Community Service

Philanthropy is an essential part of Greek Life at Chapman. Each chapter holds their own individual philanthropy events each semester. These range from sports competitions to dance performances that the entire community gets involved in. All proceeds made from these events go back to the chapter's choice of philanthropy.

Events

Chapman doesn’t have Greek housing, so many events are held on campus. This helps integrate Greek Life into the entire campus community and provide more opportunities to get involved even if you aren’t a member.

Greek Week

Greek Week is held in the fall and is a week of events — like tug of war, Greek Family Feud, and field events —  for the entire Chapman Community.

Skit

Held every spring, Skit is a two-night event where the Greek community comes together to put on — you guessed it — skits!

Each individual skit is unique, but here are some videos of what to expect:
