Chapman University is committed to supporting and assisting Hispanic/Latinx students in their college journey.

The resources below will help you learn more about Chapman and the admission process.

Welcome from Christian Aguilar, Associate Director of Diversity Initiatives and Hispanic/Latinx advocate

Christian Aguilar

¡Bienvenidos!

At Chapman, we strive to create an environment where everyone is valued, and every identity is respected.

I understand how important it is to remain connected with your heritage and community throughout your college experience. At Chapman, there is a growing community of Hispanic/Latinx students who have been able to make space to celebrate their culture and navigate together the ways in which their identity shapes their experience in higher education.

Your assigned admission counselor is a good resource for guidance, but if you have any questions regarding the Hispanic/Latinx experience on campus, please do not hesitate to email me at caguilar@chapman.edu.

We understand the importance of making education accessible, which is why we offer financial resources that make attending college more affordable. Therefore, cost should not prevent you from applying.

  • Every student who applies to Chapman as a first-year is considered for a merit scholarship, which can be as high as $40,000 per year for first-year students.
  • Chapman offers need-based aid in addition to other awards, which is determined by your FAFSA form and family's circumstances.
  • Talent/departmental awards can be combined with other awards and are determined on an individual basis by academic and university departments.

In addition to merit scholarships, need-based aid, and talent/departmental awards, we also offer mission-driven awards that provide educational opportunities to students underrepresented in higher education.

Outside scholarships

Unless otherwise noted, these scholarships are open to all Hispanic/Latinx students pursuing higher education. In most cases, these scholarships can be combined with awards you receive from Chapman or other institutions.

Details of each scholarship are subject to change, so make sure to check the scholarship's website for the most up-to-date details.

"College always felt like a distant dream, even with the support of my family, because of money. Between Chapman and an outside institution, I can follow my dreams without a lifetime of debt. For that, I am forever grateful."

"My family is low income, so attending university is improving myself to become successful. The Latina representation in Omega Phi Beta’s network was instrumental for me, and joining the sorority has been key for my success, for my character development, and for my journey.”

“As a first-gen student, I am thankful for Chapman's support in helping me navigate higher education. My involvement in academics, athletics, and working in the Office of Admission has helped me stay involved – but being a part of the men’s soccer team was the highlight of my experience."
