ยป Academic Alerts

We recommend all students closely monitor their academic progress to quickly improve poor academic performance. One way to monitor this is through your Mid-term Progress Reports.

Mid-term Progress Reports

Approximately halfway through the fall and spring semesters you may receive Mid-Term Progress Reports in their StudentCenter. You can view these by selecting “Academic Records” and then “View Grades”.

Professors who enter Mid-Term Progress Reports can select one of six numbers indicating your progress. Any number other than 1 is a cause for concern:

1 - Satisfactory Progress (in this case, no action required)

2 - Cause for Concern, Attendance

3 - Cause for Concern, Inadequate Performance

4 - Danger of Failing, Attendance

5 - Danger of Failing, Inadequate Performance

6 - Never Attended

If you have any questions about why you received a score between 2-6, you should talk to your professor directly (after class or during their office hours).

Mid-term Progress Report notifications

If you receive any Mid-Term Progress Report scores between 2-6, you:

  • Will receive an email notification concerning your unsatisfactory academic performance.
  • Should speak with your instructor to clarify the nature of the concern and how it can be resolved.
  • Should meet with your academic advisor at their earliest availability to discuss improving your performance or potentially withdrawing from a course.

Note that you may receive a score of 2-6 due to an error, or due to missing assignments or exams that were subsequently resolved.
