We are excited to announce the "Emerging Creative Scholar" position opening at our esteemed Ferrucci Institute for Italian Experience and Research, a unique opportunity designed for high-caliber, ambitious undergraduate and graduate students eager to elevate their academic and professional trajectories. The position is open to emerging scholars, artists, or entrepreneurs. As an Emerging Creative Scholar, you will embark on an enriching journey that enhances your CV with a distinguished professional title and immerses you in an intellectually stimulating environment. This position offers unparalleled mentorship opportunities, including individual meetings with dedicated faculty and our institute director and professional feedback on developing your projects and skills. You will have the rare chance to foster meaningful relationships with professors and peers through academic and social events, gaining insights and experiences far beyond the classroom.

In addition to mentorship, the role provides special invitations to exclusive social networking events, allowing you to dine with faculty, connect with peers sharing similar academic and career interests, and engage with community leaders and donors. This is more than just a position; it's a gateway to a community of excellence. You will also have priority access to local and international grants for developing projects, offering a platform to expand your horizons and apply your learning in real-world contexts. Your responsibilities include committing to a significant project, actively participating in institute events, and effectively communicating with mentoring faculty. Moreover, as an Emerging Creative Scholar, you will play a crucial role in identifying potential peers who can benefit from connecting with our institute, particularly those interested in Italy. This is a two-year commitment (one year may be considered in special cases) open to all students.

Responsibilities:

  • Commitment to the completion of a project.
  • Attend at least two institute events every semester.
  • Maintain prompt communication with institute mentoring faculty and director.
  • Acknowledge the title (“Emerging Creative Scholar, Ferrucci Institute for Italian Experience and Research”) in their email signature and professional posts.
  • Contribute to recruiting other potential Emerging Creative scholars among high-caliber peers who can benefit from a connection with Italy.
