Set in the magnificent Musco Center for the Arts, the Italian Perspective series has become a university and regional tradition for Chapman and the larger Italian community. The event, which falls each year on a clear Saturday morning in the spring, is a celebratory exploration of Italian culture’s complexity and its import across different sectors and disciplinary areas. This event responds to a real need in the community to come together and connect around the shared interest of Italy and to learn through experiences that blend aesthetic appreciation and intellectual rigor. Over the years, the Italian Perspective has offered a unique interdisciplinary angle to unveil Italy’s potential in the arts, sciences, and business in partnership with Chapman’s School of Performing Arts, the Schmid College of Science and Technology, the Argyros School of Business as well as external Italian governmental bodies such as the Istituto Italiano di Cultura in Los Angeles, Italy-America Chamber of Commerce West and the Consulate General of Italy in L.A. The series has been an instrumental laboratory for the definition of Italian Studies at Chapman University and the inception of the Ferrucci Institute.
