» Support the College of Performing Arts

Whether it is singing in our Opera Chapman program, playing in the orchestra, dancing in one of our Fall or Spring Dance concerts, or performing in a high-caliber theatre production, students in the College of Performing Arts are given the chance to shine and learn by doing from the moment they step on campus. Our accomplished and passionate faculty lead the students of CoPA every day both in class and on stage. Music, Dance and Theatre students receive a wide range of curricular offerings, interdisciplinary programs and cultural events that will help lead them as the next generation of artists.

We could not do what we do or accomplish everything we have without the generous help and support of our donors and partners. Our supporters are ones that are passionate about the arts and want to be a part of a lasting legacy that we are building here at the College of Performing Arts. We hope you’ll join us in becoming part of the CoPA Family!

Make a Difference

Donating to the College of Performing Arts (CoPA) helps fund the artists and performers of tomorrow, so they can act thoughtfully, dance beautifully and sing loudly. Your support will have an impact on our students and will enable us to provide them the proper resources, so we can continue to train artists and transform lives. Supporting CoPA helps us recruit world-class faculty and visiting artists for master classes, fund travel for our student touring ensembles and enhance our productions significantly by enabling us to increase spending for items such as staging, design and lighting, music and recording technology, and lumber to build sets for our nearly 100 live performances and productions each year. We hope you consider making a gift so that our performing arts students have the ability and the tools to create anything imaginable!

Ways To Give

For more information about any of these opportunities, please contact Bobby Reade, Development Coordinator, College of Performing Arts.

Fund for Excellence

Provide support for CoPA and the initiatives that directly impact the student’s artistic and professional experience. Your investment will help fund production costs for 100 plus performances of dance, music and theatre, the recruitment of professional visiting artists for master classes and performances on campus, scholarships and travel funds for student touring ensembles and conferences. Donations given here provide the Dean and College the most flexibility to direct the support to the area where it is needed most. Donate now!

Sponsorship/Program Support/Production Underwriting

CoPA produces nearly 100 live performances each academic year across all 3 disciplines – music, theatre and dance.  In order to produce these performances for our patrons, there are production costs associated with each show and support may be directed to these expenses, ranging from music and recording technology equipment to wood needed to build our many on-stage sets. Donors can select from any number of programs or performances they would like to support and sponsor – whether it be a full season, a single performance or our Annual Holiday Wassail Banquet and Dinner, which provides an array of sponsorship opportunities.

Scholarships

Give financial support by providing a scholarship that allows meritorious students to attend Chapman University’s College of Performing Arts and further their education, while they pursue their dream of a career in the Performing Arts.  Scholarships can be directed to any area of music, theatre or dance that is important to the donor and can be named in honor of someone special.

Endowments

Gifts of endowed funds are an investment and permanent source of funding that allow a donor to designate the area they would like their support directed to, whether it is an endowed scholarship, an endowed professorship, an endowment for a department or endowed chair. Each gift you make will provide lasting financial support and can be created with your name or the name of someone special you would like to honor.

Capital Naming Projects

Several naming opportunities exist within the College of Performing Arts for a donor to have their name on a building, existing classroom, rehearsal space, conference room or other high profile area on campus. Having a connection to a specific space on campus is a valuable way to foster creativity among CoPA students while providing an area to learn and grow.

Gifts In Kind

The College of Performing Arts accepts production services that will contribute to our many performances such as video production, lighting services, printing services, A/V engineering support, even catering. The College of Performing Arts also accepts gifts of musical instruments, books, works of art and other items that can be used as props or costumes in our productions.
