Information Systems and Technologies is in charge of providing necessary network services for the University, including Virtual Private Network (VPN) support as well as wireless network support. These services allow students the benefit of constantly being connected with free Wi-Fi and teachers and faculty the benefit of being connected to Chapman's servers off campus!
Some information on Chapman's wireless network:
- Chapman runs off an Ethernet network with gigabit fiber links between buildings and 100MB switched connections to each desktop.
- Chapman has an 802.11b/g wireless network (Wi-Fi) that provides connectivity from all classrooms and most public areas on the Orange Campus, including the library and the dining areas.
- The wireless has 30Mbps of bandwidth to the Internet using three different service providers for redundancy.
- IS&T is in the process of increasing our bandwidth to the Internet to over 100Mbps.
