» Student Groups & Organizations

Participating in School of Communication groups and organizations presents opportunities to acquire hands-on experience, like completing projects to enhance your resume or portfolio, fostering connections with fellow students and faculty members and building professional networks within the industry.

Unless otherwise noted, the groups listed below are open to undergraduate students only.

An independent, internet-only radio station run entirely by Chapman students. Work with Chapman Radio and gain real-world experience: technical training, on-air procedures, understanding and complying with FCC regulations, promotions and marketing, studio and live engineering, web development and industry communications. 

The Chapman Radio Workshop also offers university credit for participation.

Lambda Pi Eta is the School of Communication Honors Society. As a member, you will have the opportunity to develop as a leader and gain insight into the realm of communication academically, professionally, and personally. It also looks great on a resume.

Advisory board members advocate for the needs of students in the School of Communication. They do so by:

  • Serving as the student voice to the administration.
  • Representing the school to various constituencies.
  • Generating and implementing programs/initiatives designed to enhance the student experience.
  • Serving as Peer Mentors to current and potential School of Communication students.

The application period begins in the fall. All School of Communication students are welcome to apply for a position on our Student Advisory Board.

Provides mentorship and events like networking workshops and career panels to empower first-generation undergraduate and graduate students and individuals from marginalized and underrepresented backgrounds, equipping them with the knowledge and resources necessary to boost self-efficacy.
