» University Accreditation

Chapman University is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC), Senior College and University Commission (WSCUC).  WSCUC is one of six regional accrediting bodies and is recognized by the United States Department of Education as certifying institutional eligibility for federal funding across a range of programs, including student access to federal financial aid. Through its processes of peer review, WSCUC ensures member institutions meet rigorous standards and engage in continuous improvement efforts.

Chapman University has been accredited by WSCUC since 1956 and was last reaffirmed in 2023 via the Thematic Pathway for Reaffirmation (TPR), a process reserved for institutions demonstrating “consistent evidence of healthy fiscal condition, strong student achievement indicators, and sustained quality performance.”
