Summer Housing

» Summer Housing 2024

The Office of Residence Life and First Year Experience will offer limited summer housing for continuing students in the Davis and Harris apartments only. When filling out the summer housing form, students will be able to declare their preferences, however, preferences and placement in summer housing will not be guaranteed. 

Chapman students do not need to be enrolled in summer courses to live in summer housing. However, it is required that students have been fully enrolled in the spring 2024 semester or be fully enrolled in the fall 2024 semester. 

For the Summer Housing Interest Form to be considered complete, students must submit a $100 non-refundable Housing Reservation Payment and the interest form by May 1st by 11:59 pm PST.

Please note: you must submit the $100 non-refundable Housing Reservation Payment before submitting the interest form, because you will need to attach a receipt onto your Summer Housing Interest Form.  Summer Housing Process

  1. Fill out the Summer Housing Interest Form and submit the $100 non-refundable Housing Reservation Payment: Students will submit the Summer Housing Interest Form and submit their $100 non-refundable Housing Reservation Payment through their Student Center.

  2. Wait patiently for interest form review: The Office of Residence Life and First Year Experience will review the interest list after the deadline and will place applicants into a summer assignment, space permitting.

  3. Receive a formal email confirmation: A formal confirmation will be sent to students via their Chapman student email regarding their summer housing assignment, move-in instructions, and roommates (if applicable).

  1. Transition into summer housing: As soon as the assignment is ready, they will have 24 hours to transition to the new summer space.


Transitioning into Summer Housing

Students who have been assigned summer housing may not leave the Orange County area until they can transition into their summer housing. If students do decide to travel before the summer term begins, they will need to fully move out of their current housing assignment after the spring 2024 semester and will not be able to return until they are notified that their summer assignment is ready. 

Once students have been notified that their summer housing assignment is ready, students will have 24 hours to transition into their summer housing. Students can expect to be notified at the end of May or the beginning of June.

Students living in Chapman housing for the 2024-2025 academic year may not leave the Orange County area from early to mid-August, so they can be available to move into their new academic year housing assignment. 

Students who are not returning to the Chapman for the 2024-2025 academic year, must move out of their summer assignment by Saturday August 3rd.


Meals

Meal Plans (both resident and commuter), and Panther Bucks will end after dinner hours on Friday, May 17th and students will be responsible for all meals after that date. For information on dining hours, please visit the Chapman dining page.
