Biography

Scott Chapman was trained as a theoretical nuclear physicist at Yale and UC Berkeley then worked as a postdoctoral fellow at Universität Regensburg and Los Alamos Lab. In the late nineties, Scott transitioned into a business career, first at McKinsey and Company then founding a successful cloud cybersecurity company that he continues to run today.

Throughout his business career, he has continued to work in theoretical physics, mostly in the areas of Quantum Chromodynamics (QCD), BRST Quantization of Gauge Theories, and Supersymmetry. Due to the continued lack of experimental evidence for supersymmetry, Scott’s recent work focuses around nonsupersymmetric theories that still retain many of the benefits of supersymmetry, such as cancellation of quadratic divergences and a resolution of the Hierarchy problem.
