Bishop Gérald Caussé will deliver the John A. Widtsoe Distinguished Lecture for the Fish Interfaith Center’s 2018 Excellence in Religious Education Forum. The event is co-sponsored by the Latter-day Saint Student Association at Chapman University and the John A. Widtsoe Foundation.

Over the past 30 years, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has assisted the poor and needy with humanitarian and disaster relief efforts totaling $1.2 billion in more than 200 countries. In 2017 alone, the LDS Church responded to 191 countries on 2,697 projects with over 1,800 community and faith partners, serving millions of people worldwide.

The Bishop has served as Presiding Bishop of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints since 2015. He oversees the church’s worldwide assistance programs which focus on helping people become self-reliant long after the conclusion of humanitarian relief efforts

Join us in welcoming the Ven. Thich An Minh to Chapman University, to learn the fundamentals of Mindfulness from a renowned practitioner and engaging speaker.

Thich An Minh is the President and Founder of Modern Enlightenment Inc., a public benefit charity nonprofit organization that focuses on developing leadership through humanistic philanthropy. He is also Vice-President of the Dieu Phap Temple in San Gabriel, California and is also the Co-Director of Charity and Philanthropy in the Overseas Vietnamese Unified Buddha Sangha. Graduated from University of California Berkeley in Religious Studies in the emphasis of Buddhist Studies, Thich An Minh furthered his studies and achieved his Masters of Buddhist Studies at the University of the West. He is dedicated to teaching Buddhism and Mindfulness toward understanding and enjoying of a life of abundance, a life of greatness, a life of wealth but most importantly, a life of happiness.
