»Double Your Impact!

The Honorable George L. Argyros Young Alumni Giving Challenge sponsored By CUYA

Chapman Young Alumni (CUYA) was challenged in March by alumnus and passionate supporter the Honorable George L. Argyros ’59.  George matched your tax-deductible donation to the Chapman Fund dollar for dollar, up to $50,000 thereby doubling your impact and helping twice as many students! So your $20 donation becomes $40; your $100 becomes $200 and so on.

CUYA! $50,000 + Argyros $50,000 = $100,000 for students.

We Did It!

Over 516 young alumni came together to raise more than $50,000 to meet George’s challenge. With George's contribution, we were able to give more than $100,000 to the Chapman Fund for scholarship programs, student opportunities, faculty excellence and emerging opportunities!   The Young Alumni Giving Challenge was the perfect opportunity to help current students and future generations get the same incredible Chapman experience that we enjoyed.  And just as Chapman has shaped the path of our lives, by giving back, you have shaped the future of future Panthers’ lives.

Thank you to those young alumni have gave back. We could not of done this without you.

+-About the Honorable George L. Argyros '59

George Argyros Young Alumni Matching Gift"It has been an honor and privilege for Julia and me to participate in helping our young scholars pursue their dreams and goals. We need to inspire people to reach high and dare to dream big dreams." - George L. Argyros

The Honorable George L. Argyros ’59 holds a bachelor's degree in business and economics from Chapman University, an honorary doctorate in law from Pepperdine University and an honorary doctorate in humane letters from Chapman University.  He is recognized nationally and internationally, having served as U.S. Ambassador to the Kingdom of Spain and Principality of Andorra. He is Chairman and CEO at Arnel & Affiliates, and has served dozens of corporations, non-profit and educational organizations with a passion and zeal that illustrate why he was chosen in 1993 to receive the Horatio Alger Award.  From 1976-2001, he set a record as the longest serving Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Chapman University, and remains on the board today.

Anyone can talk about dreams; however, it takes an exceptional person to make them come true.  George Argyros dreams big and challenges others to do the same.  As a successful entrepreneur, business leader and visionary philanthropist, the outstanding accomplishments of the Honorable George L. Argyros are an inspiration to the students and alumni of Chapman University. There is perhaps no greater role model for challenging and inspiring Chapman’s young alumni to make a difference by continuing to sustain and advance the important mission of their alma mater.

+-Chapman University Young Alumni (CUYA)

The Chapman Young Alumni (CUYA) program is for alumni who graduated between 2002-2012. It was formed to create opportunities for young alumni to reconnect with Chapman University and each another through programs, events, volunteer opportunities and giving. Chapman Young Alumni make up 42% of total alumni. That means Chapman has graduated almost more alumni in the last ten years than it did in the university’s first 130 years! You can learn more about the CUYA Program here or for additional info contact Jessica Price.
