The Honorable George L. Argyros ’59 holds a bachelor's degree in business and economics from Chapman University, an honorary doctorate in law from Pepperdine University and an honorary doctorate in humane letters from Chapman University.  He is recognized nationally and internationally, having served as U.S. Ambassador to the Kingdom of Spain and Principality of Andorra. He is Chairman and CEO at Arnel & Affiliates, and has served dozens of corporations, non-profit and educational organizations with a passion and zeal that illustrate why he was chosen in 1993 to receive the Horatio Alger Award.  From 1976-2001, he set a record as the longest serving Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Chapman University, and remains on the board today.

Anyone can talk about dreams; however, it takes an exceptional person to make them come true.  George Argyros dreams big and challenges others to do the same.  As a successful entrepreneur, business leader and visionary philanthropist, the outstanding accomplishments of the Honorable George L. Argyros are an inspiration to the students and alumni of Chapman University. There is perhaps no greater role model for challenging and inspiring Chapman’s young alumni to make a difference by continuing to sustain and advance the important mission of their alma mater.
