The Student Union Gallery provides a space for talented Chapman students to display their artwork. All 2-D work is acceptable including photography, painting, drawing, and poetry.
Current Exhibits - The Spring Two Exhibit will be on display until July 2013. The Exhibit features seven artists: Elizabeth Iverson, Arika Abdalian, Sayer Kanakriyeh, Sara Herrmann, Jake Thompson, Nelson Tracey, and Kelley Moody.
Student artwork is reviewed and selected by the Student Union Gallery Committee, which is comprised of current students. Submit student artwork for the union using this submission form! Download the Info Packet to learn more or email studentunionart@chapman.edu.

Currently Featured Artists
Elizabeth Iverson
Elizabeth Iverson is a filmmaker and writer whose photographic work primarily involves experimental 35mm film. She enjoys exploring locations with her Holga 135 camera and creating layered images with multiple exposures and light leaks. Her photographs emphasize the strange, imperfect beauty only film can capture.
Arika Abdalian
Arika Abdalian was born in Rancho Palos Verdes, and moved to Orange, CA to pursue her Bachelor of Arts in Art and Psychology at Chapman University. With an emphasis in painting, she developed her own style, from duplicating Impressionist Masters to inspirations in her cultural background. She bases much of her work on feminine qualities in the presence and energy of every day aspects of her life. Arika has interned at the Orange County Therapeutic Arts Center (OCCTAC) and wants to pursue a career as an art therapist incorporating the arts to work with children with mental disabilities when she graduates in May. She has been included in group shows at the Guggenheim Gallery.
Sayer Kanakriyeh
Sayer Kanakriyeh grew up in Southern California and is currently working with the Almost Holden Collective out of Santa Monica.
Sara Herrmann
Sara Herrmann is a senior undergraduate student at Chapman University where she studies biological science and studio art. In her work, she explores the relationship between science and artistic expression as well as her own fascination with the figure and the inner workings of the human body.
Jake Thompson
Jake is a sophomore Theatre major with a Broadcast Journalism minor. He has a set of left-handed golf clubs he keeps saying he’s going to use, and for some reason he’s teaching himself a few chords on a guitar he got off Craigslist. Jake has been taking pictures for years, but never with any real training – he thinks it’s important to know how to take a good picture, and that he should probably take some classes in the near future, but it’s a lot more personal to go by trial and error. He believes that teaching yourself how to do something is difficult and time-consuming, but when you figure out how to do it yourself, at a level where you’re comfortable and enjoying yourself, you’re creating something, rather than just capturing it.
Nelson Tracey
Nelson Tracey is a Sophomore Film Production Major from Denver, CO. An avid traveler and storyteller, Nelson spent the summer of 2011 (his last summer before starting college) fulfilling one of his lifelong dreams: embarking on a road trip across the United States. He spent 58 days on the road, drove just over 10,000 miles, and took thousands of pictures. He has now set foot in all 50 US States! The photos selected each tell stories from a few of the incredible parts of our country he captured along his trip.
Kelley Moody
Kelley Moody is a freshman pursuing a Television and Broadcast Journalism Major and a Sociology Minor. This photo was taken over interterm during her Networking Travel Course with Dodge.
