If you are interested in being part of a research team, would like to earn credit towards graduation, or satisfy portions of the general education global citizen cluster*, read on for some of the many opportunities we have to offer.

Research Teams

Faculty actively pursue research projects in their fields and students have the opportunity to become part of a research team, gaining valuable experience in collaboration, investigation, and the formation of new knowledge.

Student-faculty research teams require different levels of preparation.  To learn more about current research projects and requirements for applying, click here.

Research-Based Experiential Credits

In both courses and independent study, students can expand their research experience and present their results at local and national conferences.  To earn research-based experiential learning credits:

- Meet with a faculty sponsor to design the project or apply for a research team.

- Biological Science students enroll in BIOL 384- Student Faculty Research.

- Chemistry students enroll in CHEM 384- Student Faculty Research.

- Students in other disciplines follow the catalog direction for Individual Study & Research Enrollment.  Visit the Office of the Registrar’s website for the Individual Study & Research form

- Spend 40 hours in instruction and research for each credit of individual study.

*To request research-based experiential learning credits for the general education global citizen cluster requirement, submit a faculty-approved description of your project to ge@chapman.edu.  For more information on the general education global citizen cluster (click here).
