»President's Piano Series

The President's Piano Series was founded in 2011 with the mission of providing access to acclaimed pianists for both the Southern California community and the students of Chapman University.

Under the artistic direction of Grace Fong, each year the President's Piano Series presents internationally acclaimed pianists and ensembles from throughout the world that perform both solo and chamber music recitals.  Internationally renowned pianists present three concerts on select Thursday evenings during the Spring semester.  All concerts take place at 7:30pm in Salmon Recital Hall located on the Chapman University campus.

2015 ARTISTS:

  • FEBRUARY 5, 2015 - Eduardo Delgado
  • MARCH 5, 2015 - Dan Tepfer
  • APRIL 2, 2015  - Abbey Simon

These concerts are presented as part of a "Subscription Series," and the $60 series subscription includes preferred reserved event seating and an invitation to the opening reception.  Tickets will be available online in early January 2015.

One of his generation’s extraordinary talents, Dan Tepfer has made a name for himself as a pianist-composer of wide-ranging ambition, individuality and drive — “a remarkable musician” in the words of the Washington Post and one “who refuses to set himself limits” in those of France’s Télérama. Born in France of American parents, Tepfer is now based in New York City and has performed with some of the leading lights in jazz; as a leader, he has crafted a discography already striking for its breadth and depth, ranging from probing solo improvisation and intimate duets to trio albums rich in their melodic allure.
