Chapman University is committed to excellence at all levels and strives to support its community in practicing the highest levels of ethical conduct. To facilitate this process, Chapman University has selected EthicsPoint, Inc. to assist its faculty, staff and students in reporting activities which may involve misconduct or violations of University policies. EthicsPoint offers you an anonymous and confidential reporting tool to communicate misconduct and promote a positive work environment.

To file a report you may use any of the following:

Persons making reports are not required to provide their names, and Chapman University will treat the investigation of any report as a confidential matter. Reports submitted to EthicsPoint, Inc. will be forwarded to the proper University officials for review.

Chapman University encourages you to return to this web site within 10 business days of filing a report using the Report Key assigned by EthicsPoint and your private password. The University may require additional information from you prior to proceeding with an investigation. Your anonymity will be protected by EthicsPoint.

Chapman University considers employee concerns very important and desires your cooperation in resolving such issues. However, this hotline service does not replace or supersede existing reporting methods at Chapman University. Employees are encouraged to bring concerns directly to their supervisor, Human Resources, or other campus entities as appropriate.

Chapman University assures that reports submitted via EthicsPoint will be handled promptly and discretely. No retaliatory action will be taken against anyone for reporting or inquiring in good faith about potential breaches of Chapman University’s policies or seeking guidance on how to handle suspected breaches. Reports submitted through EthicsPoint will be given careful attention by Chapman University.

Employees are expected to use good judgment in the use of this reporting system. It is also a violation of the University policy for any employee or student to make a baseless allegation of fraudulent or inappropriate conduct with the intent to cause harm to another individual

Accounting or internal control issues, fraud, theft, falsification of records, improper giving/receiving of gifts, improper supplier or contractor activity, waste of resources, or other financial issues

Athletics Misuse of assets, players, or endorsements; recruiting misconduct; scholarship or financial aid misconduct; or other similar matters
Child Abuse/Neglect Crimes All suspected child abuse or neglect crimes should be reported to Chapman Public Safety at (714) 997-6763 and/or the Orange Police Department at (714) 744-7444 as required by law.  Or call The Child Abuse Reporting hotline at (714) 940-1000 or (800) 207-4464 (24 hour).

Human Resources

Benefits abuses, conflicts of interest, payroll or timekeeping abuse, or other similar issues

Information Technology

Data privacy, computer security, software piracy, misuse of resources, or other similar issues

Research Conflict of Interest, Research or grant misconduct or misappropriation of costs.

Risk & Safety Matters

Unsafe working conditions, environmental issues, sabotage, vandalism, or other safety matters

Sexual Harassment

This hotline should not be used to report student conduct issues or human resources matters, involving discrimination and harassment. Matters of this nature usually cannot be appropriately addressed when the complainant chooses to remain anonymous, and Chapman University may not be able to investigate such allegations in an anonymous report. Instead these matters should be reported directly to one of the following offices as appropriate:
