Homecoming Weekend 2008 and Grand Opening of the Erin J. Lastinger '88 Athletics Complex Friday, Oct. 3 through Sunday, Oct. 5, 2008 This fall, Chapman is kicking off the new academic year with our third homecoming football game on the new Holly and David Wilson Field. We will be offering many exciting events for alumni and parents. Some events of special interest to alumni include Professor Don Booth's 50th Anniversary Celebration, the annual Alumni Awards Luncheon, 40th Reunion for members and friends of the '67 and '68 graduation classes as well as reunions for the classes of 1998 and 2003. The weekend will also feature the 3rd Annual Chapman/Toyota of Orange 5k Run and a repeat of the popular Alumni End Zone Party during the big game. 3rd Annual Chapman University Toyota of Orange 5K Saturday October 4, 2008, 7:30 a.m. The Chapman University Toyota of Orange 5K not only offers a tour of the university's picturesque campus in Orange, it also reflects the vibrancy of a school on the move. In recent years, Chapman University has grown in size and stature, adding many new facilities and earning a No. 1 ranking in student selectivity in U.S. News & World Report's guide to Western universities. Wednesday, Oct. 22, 2008, 7:00 p.m. Reception, 8:00 p.m. Performance Guggenheim Gallery and Waltmar Theatre, Chapman University Be sure to attend this alumni reception, held in the Guggenheim Gallery and featuring an exhibit of Tony DeLap drawings and paintings. The Taming of the Shrew, Directed by Professor Tom Bradac, will follow the reception at 8:00 p.m. in Waltmar Theatre. The cost for the reception, exhibit and performance is $5. Alumni Bowling Night Thursday, October 23, 2008, 6:30 - 9:30 p.m. Lucky Strike Lanes, The Block at Orange, 20 City Boulevard W., Orange, CA 92868 Looking for something to do after work on October 23? Dust off your bowling shoes and join other Chapman alumni for an evening of fun, food, fellowship, and of course, bowling at one of the coolest spots in Orange County: the Lucky Strike Lanes at the Block at Orange. All you can eat/drink food and soft beverages will be served in the upscale and private "Very Important Panther" room at the Lucky Strike which has six lanes, a separate patio, and a comfortable lounge setting for catching up with old friends and connecting with new ones. The performance features a reconstruction of Bella Lewitsky’s “Pietas” by Nora Reynolds and Sean Greene and works by Dale A. As Orange County’s most respected outlook conference, Chapman University’s forecast guides the Southern California business community in strategic planning and investment. Using the latest findings of the Chapman Econometric Model, developed by Chapman faculty and students, the forecast will anticipate the direction of the key economic variables for the county, the state and the country.
