The Sustaining and Promoting Internships and Research Experiences Program

» SPIRE Program

The SPIRE program is looking for its first cohort of 25 SPIRE Fellows! This exciting program is designed to support 1st or 2nd-year undergraduate or transfer students at Chapman in identifying and participating in internships and research opportunities in certain areas of science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM). SPIRE Fellows will receive a whole host of benefits, including a $700 stipend, monthly small group meetings with a mentor who will guide Fellows in identifying and applying to internships and research opportunities, a professional development course in spring that will provide additional guidance, and support, and an exclusive field trip to tour the US Space Force’s Space Systems Command.

This program is run through the Schmid College of Science and Technology and Fowler School of Engineering, though students from any college (or students who are exploratory majors) are welcome to participate as long as they are interested in pursuing a STEM research opportunity or internship. We graciously acknowledge funding from the Air Force Office of Scientific Research.
