Gene Haas FoundationThe Fowler School of Engineering is fortunate to have received the Gene Haas Scholarship to award students with tuition, books, supplies, and tools. The primary goal of the Gene Haas Foundation is to build and promote skills in the machining industry by providing scholarships to students who focus on CNC machining technology.

Multiple awards will be granted for spring 2024 and will range from $500 to $2500 per student. Recipients of this award will be expected to attend an award luncheon in spring 2024.

The application is closed for the 2023/2024 academic year.

Awards will be announced in January 2024. 

Award Criteria: 

  • Open to undergraduate students
  • Open to freshmen, sophomores, juniors, and seniors
  • Must be a full-time student in the Fowler School of Engineering for the entire 2023-24 academic year
  • Must have a cumulative 3.0 GPA or higher at time of application
  • Must be majoring in a Fowler School of Engineering degree program
  • Must have CNC machining experience (e.g., internship, coursework, etc.) Completion of CPSC 298 or CENG 298 (Section 22 only) by end of fall 2023 semester will meet this criteria
  • Experience with CAD software preferred
  • Previous Gene Haas Award recipients are not eligible
