Biography

Los Angeles native Todd Slavkin is a writer-showrunner-director with more than 38 years of experience writing in both film and television. Collaborating with his oldest friend and writing/producing partner Darren Swimmer, Slavkin has worked in all different genres and has written and produced many popular television shows, including Smallville, Shadowhunters and most recently The Mysterious Benedict Society. For two seasons of that series, he was nominated for four Emmys in the categories of Outstanding Young Teen Series and Outstanding Writing for a Young Teen Program. He has written pilots for ABC, NBC, Fox, Freeform, SYFY and The CW, where he created and was showrunner of Melrose Place 2.0. Other television credits include No Ordinary Family, Alphas, Defiance, Dominion and Guilt. He began his career in features, penning Dark Reflection, starring C. Thomas Howell and produced by Kiefer Sutherland, and Control, starring Ray Liotta, Willem Dafoe and Michelle Rodriguez.

Slavkin earned his BFA in film writing from the University of Southern California.
