Biography

Tess M. Buckley is an Instructional Assistant Professor in the School of Communication at Chapman University. Her research focuses primarily on attitude and behavior change as well as resistance to persuasive appeals in the context of health. She uses qualitative and quantitative methods to understand how mediated, interpersonal, and organizational messages influence individuals' attitudes and behaviors, as well as the efficacy of tailored communication to enhance individual and societal well-being. Dr. Buckley teaches courses on persuasion theory, organizational communication, research methods, training and development, and mass communication. She enjoys connecting with her students on a personal and academic level, as well as mentoring those considering graduate school or job opportunities.
