Dodge College Course: Media Strategies
Industry Affiliations: American Advertising Federation, Newport Bay Conservancy
“Most of my students haven’t a clue about media when they enter the first day of my class,” says Richard Wang. But with his years of experience and guidance, they walk out with an appreciation for marketing and advertising. Wang spent most of his career in the advertising agency world, working in account management and media planning. His clients included major blue-chip companies like Ford Motors, Hewlett Packard, Bank of America, and Sprint. He currently works in client marketing as a Brand Manager for the AAA Automobile Club of Southern California, where he directs a team responsible for brand advertising and direct response marketing in the areas of automotive services, teen driver safety, life insurance, and AAA branch-office communications and merchandising. “I enjoy sharing my passion for advertising and media with people who have an interest in this fast paced and creative industry,” he says of his teaching experience. “I feel very proud when I hear about former students who have made the decision to pursue an advertising media internship or career upon graduation from Chapman.”
