Biography

Mark Peng is a performer and educator based in Orange County. He received a Bachelor of Music degree in Vocal Performance from Chapman University before earning a Master of Arts in Education. While at Chapman, Mark studied with Dr. Peter Atherton and performed opera roles including Antonio (Le Nozze di Figaro) and Betto (Gianni Schicchi). He has also performed a variety of musical theatre roles including Moonface Martin (Anything Goes), Caldwell B. Cladwell (Urinetown), and Rapunzel’s Prince/Wolf (Into the Woods) as well as holiday events with the Mixed Company Handbell Carolers.

Mark has taught from the elementary to university level and continues to maintain a private voice studio. His past teaching experience include positions at San Francisco Boy’s Chorus, Ragazzi Boy’s Chorus, and OCSA’s Classical Voice Conservatory. He has also spent four summers on the Chapman Choral Music Camp staff teaching classes such as voice, audition prep, film music, and sight-singing.

Mark holds positions at St. John Neumann in Irvine and St. Kilian in Mission Viejo as a cantor and works full-time in the Capistrano Unified School District as an elementary school music teacher.
