Biography
Laura Parker (she/her) is an Alexander Technique teacher certified by the American Society for the Alexander Technique. She has taught group AT classes at Loyola Marymount University, Mount Saint Mary's University, The National Children's Chorus, UCLA, and Identity School of Acting. She has taught AT masterclasses at USC Thornton School of Music, CSU Summer Arts, Idyllwild Arts Academy, Pierce College, Metropolitan State University- Denver, Cal Poly Pomona, University of La Verne, Orange County School for the Arts, LA County High School for the Arts, and Marlborough School. In addition to teaching at Chapman, Laura teaches Alexander Technique and Voice at Hussian College In Studio-LA and maintains a private teaching studio in Los Angeles. Laura is also an opera singer and has sung with LA Opera, Long Beach Opera, Lyric Opera of San Diego, as well as orchestras and opera companies around the country. Between singing gigs, Laura studied improvisation for years, and currently teaches both improv and AT for the summer training program, OperaWorks. She holds vocal performance degrees from Boston University and USC and trained as an Alexander Technique teacher at ATI-LA.
