Biography

Kent Sommer is an adjunct professor and teaches Legal Analysis Workshop. He began teaching at Chapman University Fowler School of Law in 2012. He also assists with the law school's bar prep program. Mr. Sommer received his B.A. from Brigham Young University and his JD from Chapman University Fowler School of Law. While in law school he was a member of the Chapman Law Review and on the Mock Trial team. He also externed for the Honorable Terry J. Hatter, Jr. in the United States District Court for the Central District of California.

Mr. Sommer is a Deputy County Counsel for Los Angeles County and works in their Labor and Employment Division. He helps manage the various legal issues that involved any of the 100,000+ county employees. He also works with various county departments and advises the departments with their handling of various disputes and issues between the County and its employees. Prior to working with Los Angeles County, Mr. Sommer worked for Bremer, Whyte, Brown & O'Meara in their Newport Beach office.
