Biography

Joe Rosenberg’s career path has interwoven between the worlds of business and academia. He has more than 25 years of experience at the highest levels of the entertainment industry, and in recent years has acquired expertise and a track record as an educator.

During his years as an agent with Creative Artists Agency, he witnessed firsthand the global evolution of America’s entertainment industry. His unique purview and wide-reaching network gave him insight into every aspect of the business, from development and production, to representation deals to marketing campaigns and distribution. As an agent, he represented directors such as Ridley and Tony Scott, David Fincher, Terry Gilliam, Luc Besson, Todd Haynes, Mark Romanek, and Michael Bay, to name a few.

Joe’s transition to the classroom began as a part-time Graduate Instructor at UCLA, and later a leadership position as Director of the Professional Programs at the UCLA School of Theater, Film, Television, and Digital Media, a role he held while also teaching in the university’s MFA Producers Program.

As both an Adjunct Instructor and Visiting Lecturer, Joe has taught on artist representation and management, and the global entertainment business. Recent lectures include the University of North Carolina School of the Arts, MFA Creative Producing Program, NYU, MBA/MFA Dual Degree in Filmmaking, Columbia University, MFA Creative Producing Program, and Drexel University, Entertainment & Arts Management Program.
