Biography
Associate Professor of Finance. Ph.D., Virginia Polytechnic Institute. Dr. Broughton teaches a variety of finance courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels. His research has appeared in leading finance journals such as the Journal of Business, Financial Review, Quarterly Journal of Business and Economics, Journal of Financial Services Research, and Journal of Investing. He is the former Director of the Hoag Center for Real Estate and Finance and was Associate Dean of the Argyros School for eight years, during which time the school was reaccredited by AACSB and first recognized as a top 50 undergraduate business program by BusinessWeek magazine. He founded the student management investment fund in the Argyros School and was instrumental in the design and construction of the Janes Financial Center. Dr. Broughton received his CFA charter in 2007 and has been a consultant to CFA Institute since 2010. Prior to entering academia, Dr. Broughton was an economist with the Institute for Water Resources, the Bureau of International Labor Affairs and Bell Atlantic Corporation.
