Associate Professor of Finance. Ph.D., Virginia Polytechnic Institute. Dr. Broughton is Director of the Hoag Center for Real Estate and Finance. He was Associate Dean of the Argyros School of Business for eight years prior to his current position, during which time the school was reaccredited by AACSB and recognized as a top 50 undergraduate business program by BusinessWeek magazine. His research on option and capital markets has appeared in leading finance journals such as the Journal of Business, Financial Review, Quarterly Journal of Business and Economics and Journal of Financial Services Research. He teaches a variety of finance courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels and is the faculty advisor to the Student Managed Investment Fund. Dr. Broughton also serves as an expert witness on various financial issues.  Prior to entering academia, Dr. Broughton was an economist with the Institute for Water Resources, the Bureau of International Labor Affairs and Bell Atlantic Corporation. He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation, and serves on the editorial board of the Journal of Business Research.
