Biography
Dr. Jillian Wood is the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs, and serves as the Director of Undergraduate Education at Attallah College of Educational Studies. Dr. Wood graduated from Attallah College at Chapman University in 2016 with a doctorate in Education with an emphasis on Leadership Studies. Her dissertation focused on equity issues for female faculty in higher education. Her research focuses on equity-driven organizations that provide a space for employees to feel valued and safe. She also focuses on adult learning theory, building best practices for teaching diverse adult populations in ways that keep them motivated and eager to learn.
Before returning to Chapman, Dr. Wood taught introductory and advanced writing courses at California State University, Fullerton (CSUF) for three years. Before teaching at CSUF, Dr. Wood worked in administration at Chapman University, first at Attallah College and then at the Argyros School of Business and Economics. She has worked in higher education for over nine years, with experience in budget management, student services, accreditation, admissions, and marketing.
