Biography

Carlos Tesoro is a jack of all trades, master of ONE when it comes to working in the entertainment industry. Since graduating from Yale School of Drama with an MFA degree in Acting, Carlos acquired an extensive list of job descriptions ranging from director to designer to caterer.

As an actor, Carlos has worked with theater companies such as East West Players, ICAP, Metta Assumption Theater, LA Consolacion, Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP), Eugene O’Neill Theater, and Yale Repertory. Select roles include Bassanio (Merchant of Venice), Ariel (The Tempest), Oliver (As You Like It), Telegin (Uncle Vanya) and Anthony (A. Rey Pamatmat’s New). His film credits include Kalabaw in Kristo (ASEAN International Film Festival) and Sgt. Camins in Best Partee Ever (QCinema International Film Festival) and can also be found in the online digital comedy The Corps as Jeff Pamatmat. He is also a proud member of the AEA.

As a film maker, Carlos has worked on several productions in varying positions. He recently produced a full-length feature entitled Songs for Selina to be released in the spring of 2023. He was a contributor for Star Cinema’s Seven Sundays and Unexpectedly Yours, and was the marketing distributor for Arkeo Film’s Apocalypse Child. He was an associate producer for House of Sam, a full live-stage production house, working on NBC’s The Voice, VH1 Divas, America’s Got Talent, and American Music Awards. He assisted concerts and live shows for singing icons such as Christina Aguilera, Vanessa Hudgens, and Leona Lewis. He was an associate producer/director for K-Pop boyband royalty JYJ’s world tour: The Beginning.

Never one to sit back and relax, Carlos also established a corporate coaching company Behind the Scenes whose primary message is “to make being human work again;” working with corporate companies such as Nestle, Solaire, Jack Morton and Netflix. He is the co-founder of Some Folks Productions, a diverse group of individuals who tell stories that advance the narratives of the unheard. Currently specializing in film and TV creative consultancy, short-format storytelling and podcasts, Some Folks Productions’ motto is “The Untold, Told.”
