Dr. Alberto Mingardi
Biography
Alberto Mingardi is Assistant Professor in History of Political Thought at IULM University of Milan. He is also Director General of Istituto Bruno Leoni, Italy’s free-market think tank (www.brunoleoni.it) which he helped to establish in 2004. He is an Adjunct Scholar with the Cato Institute, in Washington DC. He holds a PhD in Political Science from University of Pavia.
His main academic interest is in 19th century classical liberalism. He authored a monograph on Thomas Hodgskin (Venice, 2016) and one on Herbert Spence (New York & London, 2011). He has translated into English, Antonio Rosmini, The Constitution Under Social Justice (2003) and edited critical editions, in Italian, of Thomas Hodgskin (2014), Herbert Spencer (2016) and Vilfredo Pareto (2018). He authored a popular primer on classical liberalism, in Italian and Spanish (2013).
