Biography

Adam Lebowitz-Lockard is an actor, filmmaker, writer, and professor of theatre practice at Chapman University and USC.

Adam wrote, directed, produced and starred in the short films OMI and Beefies through his production company, OmiKatyMe; dedicated to telling Jewish stories with Passion, Joy, and Grace. These films have screened at various Academy Award-qualifying and Jewish film festivals across the country and abroad. He is currently in production on a feature-length adaptation OMI, as well as a documentary about the physical actor training with Andy Robinson at USC, where he is a proud MFA Acting alum.

On stage, Adam’s work has been seen across the country, including the Geffen Playhouse, Whitney Museum, American Repertory Theater, Williamstown Theater Festival, Primary Stages, 59E59, Los Angeles Theater Center, Rogue Machine, Echo Theater Company, Fountain Theater, Skylight Theater, Sierra Madre Playhouse, The Flea Theater, The Chance Theater, as well as various museums and non-traditional theater spaces with theatre dybbuk. He is a Stage Raw Award winner of “Best Adaptation” with the Élan Ensemble for their work adapting Miranda July’s No One Belongs Here More Than for the stage.

On screen he’s been featured in The Shrink Next Door (Apple TV+), The Pine Tar Incident (FOX), the SXSW film selection California Dreamsand many Buzzfeed and FunnyOrDie sketches.
