Atlas Early Arrival Program

The Atlas Early Arrival Program is exclusively for incoming, first-year Exploratory Majors participants and helps them learn more about the university and exploratory process.

  • Participation is required for incoming first-year undeclared/Exploratory Majors students.
  • Note that details are subject to change. If there are any changes to locations or programming, we will update webpage and email participants.
  • Please limit your guests to up to two family members.
  • To help you navigate campus, please use our Campus map.

Move-in details

  • For students living on campus, the program begins on on Saturday, August 17 with early move-in to your Chapman residence hall.
  • Move-in will be open between 6-8 p.m.
  • After you check-in, you will be able to get settled into your new home at Chapman Saturday evening!

Program details

Programming kicks off the day after move-in. Locations will be updated in August. 

Sunday, August 18

  • 10:30 a.m.: Jazz Brunch for students and parents.
  • 12:30 p.m.: Getting Involved and Connected
    • In this session, you will meet staff from Chapman's Office of Student Engagement. They will help you consider what you want your college experience to look like, share more about involvement opportunities at Chapman, and help you meet peers with similar interests.
  • 3 p.m.: Program ends; evening on your own with your families.

Monday, August 19

  •  For Students:
    • 7:30 a.m.: Breakfast opens at Randall Dining Commons.
    • 9 a.m.: Launchpad to Success (students only) in Argyros Forum 208 (walking directions to Argyros Forum here).
      • In this session, you will meet the Career and Professional Development team as they help you get started in personally exploring your career options. Reflect on your growing interests and values and learn about how these tie in with your academic path and future career. Discover the different resources that Chapman offers and find various ways to make the most of your first year.
    • 12:30 p.m.: Program ends; afternoon and evening on your own with your families.
  • For Parents:

Tuesday, August 20

Chapman's Orientation for all incoming first-year students and families begins on Tuesday. For your convenience, key details of the day are below. For full Orientation details, and to register, visit our New Student Orientation website.

  • Move-in begins for all incoming first-year students  
  • 2 p.m.: Orientation events begin  
  • 4:45 p.m.: Orientation dinner  
  • 7 p.m.: Orientation Opening Convocation
