Kimberly Kovacs is the Managing Director of Arroyo Ventures, a strategic advisory firm that provides a place for high net-worth female investors and exceptional women entrepreneurs to connect and to empower women to invest and seek investment.  She is also an active angel investor and advisor to emerging companies who are seeking growth capital.

Most recently, Ms. Kovacs was the founder and CEO of OptionEase, a leading equity compliance SaaS company which was purchased by Solium Capital in November 2012 and has had a distinguished career in executive leadership and finance spanning over 20 years with dozens of successful startup ventures.  In addition to raising over $100M in equity capital, she secured over $50M in funding from HUD to preserve low income housing as Chairman of Alpha Project in San Diego.

Another noted accomplishment was as co-founder and CFO of ORXYE Energy she, along with leaders of the EPA and major oil testified in Congress that ultimately resulted in Ms. Hillary Clinton’s involvement and adoption of the Clean Energy laws in the U.S that brought in new conservation and renewable fuel standards.

Ms. Kovacs was elected as the first woman to the prestigious board of directors for OCTANE, a startup accelerator in Orange County dedicated to connecting people and ideas with capital and resources to fuel technology growth and create jobs. She is also on the board of the Los Angeles Ventures Association and an advisor, mentor and adjunct professor for the Ralph W. Leatherby Center for Entrepreneurship and Business Ethics at Chapman University. In addition, she is active in many industry organizations such as the FEI and FENG as well as the Women Presidents Organization (WPO) and the Association of Women in Technology (AWT) to promote female executive leadership and capital raising.

A highly accomplished and forward-thinking senior financial executive and top corporate officer, with extensive expertise in turnaround management, mergers and acquisitions, due diligence, system implementations, financial planning and analysis, human resources management, information systems, operational controls, and financial reporting.

Since March 2017 McCarthy has started his own consulting practice serving a variety of clients most of which are private equity owned. Recent roles include interim and fractional CFO and advisory roles for PE backed company preparing for exit, interim CFO for severely distressed PE owned company, advisory role for family business looking toward strategic event, and turnaround situation advisory role for another PE backed company.

McCarthy previously was with Sunrise Growers~Frozsun Foods as CFO who was privately-equity owned company in 2005 as part of a turnaround effort of the company. The restructuring and growth of the company is impressive and Sunrise is one of the leading suppliers of frozen fruit in the world selling to top retailers and food service customers.  The continued success resulted in sales of the company to a different private equity firm in 2008 and 2013 and then with a sale to a publicly-traded food company based in Toronto in late 2015.

McCarthy had CFO roles at Southern California based Trojan Battery Company and Case-Swayne Company prior to Sunrise and has been a CFO for 25 years.  He also has had executive positions in the software industry, banking, and oil industry.  He started his career after receiving his business degree from Penn State University at KPMG in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.  In 2017, McCarthy was awarded a “Lifetime Achievement Award” by sponsors of the annual Orange County Business Journal’s CFO award event.

Joe is active in the community.  Joe is currently on the board of directors of Waymakers, Inc., a member of the Villa Park Investment Advisory Committee, a mentor for the UCI business school and is former long-time board member of the Red Cross and former Chairman and longtime youth sports coach and board member.
