Biography

For the latter half of his 20-year business career, Warner Griswold was COO and CFO of Green Street Advisors, the industry leader in real estate and real estate investment trust (REIT) research. Until retirement at the end of 2015, Warner was an executive member of Green Street's Board of Directors and strategic committee, and oversaw the firm's internal functions, including Finance, Accounting, Technology, Compliance, and Human Resources. He helped facilitate and negotiate the sale of the company to a private equity firm in late 2014, and stayed on for a year to ensure a seamless transition. Warner began his career at Ocwen Financial Corporation, where he worked in portfolio acquisitions of real estate and loans. From 1996-2004, Warner served as a research analyst, and was oft-quoted in the Wall Street Journal, the Financial Times, and other financial publications, regarding his fundamental and financial outlook for the industry. He became COO in 2004 and played an integral role in Green Street's robust growth by developing infrastructure across several departments and hiring and developing a deep bench of personnel. Warner has served as an Adjunct Professor at the University of California, Irvine's Graduate School of Management, where he taught classes in Real Estate Capital Markets. He currently teaches undergraduate business courses at Chapman University and at Saddleback College. Warner is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charterholder and earned his B.A., with honors, in Business Economics and Organizational Behavior and Management from Brown University.
