Once you are accepted to study abroad through Chapman, you will complete the following tasks to prepare for your global experience:
- Apply directly to your program provider/host institution. The instructions can be found on your Global Gateway application.
- Submit courses abroad for Chapman credit through a Global Course Request form to ensure you can receive credit for courses taken abroad.
- Attend the mandatory pre-departure orientation and complete Global Studies 101, a non-credit-bearing online educational tool, to help prepare you to maximize your global experience. You will be emailed with instructions.
- Apply for study abroad scholarships to help offset costs. Many are available, but applications can be due 1-2 semesters before departure. Plan early!
- Consider visas, housing, health and safety and diversity, access, and identity before going abroad.
- Browse resources for traveling, such as transportation, travel guides, food, and other essentials.
- If you change your mind about studying abroad, review the program refund policies.
