Federal Direct Loans
Once you have completed the FAFSA online and any additional paperwork requested from the Financial Aid Office, you will be offered Federal Direct Loans. Loan amounts are based on your grade level. Parents of dependent undergraduate students may be offered the option of utilizing a Parent PLUS Loan.
Private Loans
These loans are provided by third-party lenders to help meet school-related expenditures that cannot be met by other forms of financial aid. These loans differ in interest rates and limitations in comparison to Federal Direct Loans. We encourage you to compare lenders to determine which private loan would best fit your needs.
Chapman Interest-Free Loans
The Chapman Interest-Free Loan is the only loan serviced through Chapman University. You must be a high-need returning student, have a minimum of a 3.0 GPA, graduated from a California high school, and utilizing Federal Direct Loans. If you need additional financial assistance, please contact the Office of Undergraduate Financial Aid to review your eligibility for this loan. If you are eligible to borrow the loan, you will then be required to complete an additional Master Promissory Note and Loan Entrance Counseling.
