- If you are unable to finish your degree program by the end date on your I-20, you must submit the I-20 Extension Request.
- An extension of your immigration record must be completed at least 30 days before your current I-20 program end date.
- You are eligible for a program extension if you are making satisfactory progress toward your program and the extension request is due to an academic or medical reason.
Extension Request Instructions
Step 1: Complete the Program Extension form with your Academic Advisor

Step 2: Submit online ISS Program Extension Form
You will receive an emailing notification of your request within 5 business days.
