Applying for Financial Aid

» Applying for Financial Aid

If you’re looking to use financial aid to help pay for college, you will need to submit a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

The FAFSA is a free, online form that will help you determine if you are eligible for student aid. This includes federal aid (grants, work study and low-interest loans) and potentially school and state aid. Submitting the FAFSA is essential if you want to be considered for federal, state and most forms of Chapman financial aid.

Note that only U.S. citizens and eligible non-citizens (including permanent residents) are eligible to submit a FAFSA.

Update on the FAFSA Form for 2025-26

The FAFSA recently went through a significant redesign, which has led to a delay in the public release for those submitting for the 2025-26 academic year. The FAFSA is currently projected to open to all students by December 1.
