As a Chapman student, you have your own dedicated academic advisor. Your advisor is here to help you make informed decisions about your education and achieve your goals in college.
How advising works at Chapman
Here are a few things to know about how advising works at Chapman:
- Your advisor is assigned to you based on your major. Your assigned advisor will be able to help you with questions specific to your major and career path, as well as more general questions. Undeclared majors also have their own advisor. Some areas your advisor can assist with include:
- Building a four-year plan for your major.
- Integrating your GE classes with your major.
- Your advisor is your point of contact on navigating campus. If you need help with anything related to academics or student life, reach out. Your advisor can help you or direct you to appropriate campus resources.
- Aside from your main advisor, you may have access to other advisors and campus resources, including:
- Faculty mentors from your school/college, who can introduce you to research projects and academic opportunities.
- Peer mentors: current upperclass students who pass on wisdom gained from their personal experience.
- Specialized advisors for studying abroad, as well as for students on pre-med, pre-health or pre-law tracks.
