Housing for first-year students
For incoming first-year students, Chapman housing is required for three years (through the end of junior year). All first-year students should expect to be placed in a triple-occupancy room in a first-year residency hall.

Living-Learning Communities
Residence hall assignments for first-year students are based on their academic program (Fenestra Living-Learning Communities). Individual rooming assignments are based on the living preference questions in the online housing application.
Fenestra Living-Learning Communities help first-year students forge connections with peers, faculty and the university. They also encourage students to engage in interdisciplinary, university-level critical inquiry and reflection.
