  • American Journal of Undergraduate Research — The American Journal of Undergraduate Research (AJUR), established in 2002, is a national, independent, faculty peer-reviewed, open-access journal that publishes multidisciplinary student research. Their mission is to peer-review and publish undergraduate manuscripts at no cost to authors, both online and in print. AJUR is indexed internationally by EBSCO and Crossref, with each manuscript receiving a DOI, and its content is archived by the Library of Congress.   • EvoS Journal — Founded in 2009 with an NSF grant, EvoS Journal: Evolutionary Studies and Higher Education publishes original research on teaching evolutionary theory in higher education. It welcomes submissions from all academic disciplines, particularly those that incorporate evolutionary theory. The journal has two main goals: to publish peer-reviewed articles on evolutionary theory in higher education and to feature undergraduate research from Evolutionary Studies Programs. Additionally, it includes articles based on research presented at the annual NorthEastern Evolutionary Psychology Society conference (showcased in special issues).

  • INQUIRIES Journal — INQUIRIES Journal is an open-access academic journal that showcases undergraduate and above student work across various disciplines, particularly in the social sciences, arts, and humanities. Its goal is to provide a credible platform for disseminating exceptional student scholarship to public, professional, and academic audiences. By facilitating engagement with student research and insights, INQUIRIES Journal fosters an intellectually vibrant society through the sharing of ideas beyond the classroom.

  • International Journal of Exercise Science (IJES) — The main objective of the International Journal of Exercise Science (IJES) is to involve undergraduate and graduate students in academic pursuits as both authors and reviewers, aiding their development into professionals. To support this goal, it is required that at least one author of each manuscript submission be a student who has significantly contributed to the research.

  • Journal of Student Research (JSR) — The Journal of Student Research (JSR)—based in Houston, Texas—is an academic, multidisciplinary journal that undergoes faculty review and focuses on research from high school, undergraduate, and graduate students. It welcomes articles that are innovative, integrative, and accessible to a wide audience across various disciplines, covering both applied and theoretical research. Submissions on all topics are encouraged. The journal streamlines the process from manuscript submission to publication using an automated system, managing all peer review steps online. JSR provides Open Access, adhering to the principle that providing free and accessible research fosters a broader global exchange of knowledge.

  • MarSci Journal — MarSci is an inter-institutional venue for publishing undergraduate research in marine and aquatic sciences. It offers a unique opportunity for students and their research advisors to engage in the submission and publication process, which is often unavailable to undergraduates. The updated MarSci is now more accessible online, allowing for easy downloading and sharing. The editors aim to enhance professionalism and attract diverse submissions from any institution. Future issues will include research manuscripts, posters, abstracts, student articles, faculty advice, and information on upcoming deadlines and events. Students can submit completed projects or works-in-progress in various formats, promoting wider distribution of their research experiences.
  • Journal of Young Investigators (JYI) — The Journal of Young Investigators (JYI) aims to enhance undergraduate science education by offering innovative, high-quality experiences in science writing, publication, and the peer-review process. Research articles must be authored by undergraduates or teams of undergraduates who conducted the research. Graduate students may also submit articles if they were undergraduates when the research was conducted, but manuscripts must be submitted within one year of their graduation from the undergraduate institution.
  • Journal of Undergraduate Research in Physics and Astronomy (JURPA) — The Journal of Undergraduate Research in Physics and Astronomy (JURPA) is a peer-reviewed publication by the Society of Physics Students, featuring research, outreach, and scholarly articles authored by undergraduates in physics, astronomy, and related fields. It serves as a platform for sharing ideas and information between undergraduates and their advisors. A key aim of the journal is to educate and train students while facilitating the public dissemination of research and program activities. Current SPS members in good standing may submit their work, provided that all research was conducted during their undergraduate studies, and submissions are accepted within 18 months of degree completion. The journal accepts submissions year-round.
