»Support Chapman Students

Students are Chapman University’s top priority and most precious resource.  Preparing them for success in all their endeavors is at the core of Chapman’s mission.  The most powerful and meaningful way to support Chapman students is to give a gift supporting scholarships.

Whether it’s a one-time donation, a commitment to an annual gift or endowing a scholarship that will support students for generations to come, your contribution will give bright young men and women the life-changing and invaluable gift of a Chapman education.

Scholarships

Each year Chapman invests more than $80 million in scholarships, grants and loans for academically promising and needy undergraduate students. In fact, more than 80% of Chapman students rely on scholarships and financial aid to fund their education.

By reducing the stressful and often prohibitive financial burden, scholarships open the door to a Chapman education for deserving young men and women from all walks of life, helping to create a vibrant student body that is rich in diversity.

Chapman University offers two main types of scholarship support to students:

  • Merit Scholarships

Available to both incoming freshmen and transfer students, these scholarships, ranging from $10,000 to $25,000 per student per year, are awarded to students who have demonstrated outstanding academic performance, without regard to financial need. Merit scholarships are vital to the continued growth and reputation of Chapman as they enable the university to attract the highest caliber of students from around the world.

  • Need-Based and Grants and Scholarships

Chapman Grants and other named institutional scholarships are offered to students who qualify based on financial need. A long list of need-based awards is available, ranging from a few hundred dollars to full-tuition grants.

For example:

-The Guardian Scholars program supports ambitious college-bound students exiting the foster-care system.

-The Thurgood Marshall Scholarship program supports first-generation and underrepresented students who have overcome adversity and have shown academic excellence, leadership and community service.

Student Opportunities and Enrichment

Chapman University recognizes that much of a student’s education takes place outside of the classroom. We work hard to create a highly engaging environment that promotes meaningful life experiences and opportunities for leadership.  Chapman’s commitment to global citizenship is demonstrated through the active role our students take in communities both locally and across the globe.

Your gift can create opportunities for academic and professional development and personal growth outside the classroom such as:
  • Faculty-guided student travel, both domestic and international
  • Extended research opportunities
  • Student-led campus ventures and philanthropic initiatives
